The Bedlocker retractable tonneau cover with Explorer Series rails lets you add a ladder rack or roof rack to carry cargo above your bed without interrupting the cover's function. This electric cover opens and closes easily with a key fob remote, and it can stop and lock anywhere along the bed to provide custom protection for your cargo. Heavy-duty aluminum panels with weather-resistant silicon hinges keep water and debris out of your truck bed, and they help to protect your cargo from theft. The low-profile cover also installs easily without drilling.

Retractable with Remote

Bedlocker truck bed cover

This electric, retractable tonneau cover is powered by a motor that wires directly to your vehicle's battery. The included key fob remote activates the motor and allows you to open or close the cover in under 30 seconds. An electro-magnetic brake stops and locks the cover at any point along the rails for customized cargo protection.Press the Open button on the remote to retract the cover into the canister. Simply release the button to trigger the electro-magnetic brake and lock the cover in at the desired position. Press the Closed button to deploy the cover. There is an optional manual switch available (sold separately) that allows you to operate the cover from the cab of your truck or at the tailgate.

A manual release is located on the canister in case of remote control or power failure. Simply pull out the manual release lever, and engage the kickstand behind it. This allows you to deploy and retract the cover by hand until power is restored to your vehicle.

Explorer Series Rails

The Explorer Series rails include T-slots that allow you to mount accessories directly to the cover. This enables you to install a ladder rack or roof rack on the rails and carry cargo above the bed without interfering with the operation of the cover. The T-slots also run the length of the side rails so you can position your ladder rack or roof rack as needed to accommodate different sized loads. The rails are compatible with Pace Edwards Utility Rig and Contractor Rig ladder racks (sold separately).

Angled Canister

Bedlocker Angled Canister

The cover retracts into a compact, angled canister located at the front of your truck bed. This canister protects the retracted cover from the elements, and with the cover stored in the canister you'll have unrestricted visibility out of your rear window. The angled design of the canister also allows for maximum clearance for your tools and cargo so there is no need to remove the cover to haul cargo.

Water-Management System

The Bedlocker rails feature a water management system that channels excess water into the canister. This prevents water from getting into your bed or freezing in your tonneau cover rails during cold temperatures. Drain tubes attached to the bottom of the canister remove water through the OE drain holes in the floor of your truck bed.

Flush-Mount Design

The Bedlocker side rails mount level with your truck bed rails for a flush appearance. This flush-mount design is aerodynamic to reduce wind drag, and it helps to improve gas mileage when the cover is closed. Even with the flush-mount design, the cover fits over most fifth-wheel trailer hitches. Note: The highest point of the fifth-wheel hitch must be at least 2" below the bed rails.

Heavy-Duty Construction

Bedlocker aluminum panels

The cover is constructed of interlocking aluminum panels with a black powder coat finish. A silicon weather hinge creates a tight seal between each panel to prevent water and dirt from entering the truck bed. A barrier seal at the tailgate prevents water from entering truck bed through the rear. The rails are constructed of extruded aluminum with a black powder coat finish.

Security

The Bedlocker provides excellent protection for your cargo when used in conjunction with a closed and locked tailgate. The durable aluminum panels are better at preventing theft when compared with soft covers that can be cut or punctured with a knife. The panels are also more effective at preventing theft than tri-fold hard tonneau cover because the panels cannot be pried open at any point along the rails.

No-Drill Installation

To install the cover, place the canister on a support at the bulkhead of the truck. Run the wiring harness from the canister to your vehicle's battery. Do not connect the harness to your battery until the rest of the installation is complete.

Bedlocker aluminum panels

Attach the rails to the canister, then secure the rails to your truck bed side rails using 2 clamps per side. Slide the clamp onto the rail, flip the pivot arm up so it is under the bed rail lip, and tighten the clamp in place. Shims are included for trucks with tapered beds.

Bedlocker SpeedClamp

Each clamp at the tailgate end of the rails has a supplemental kickstand to help level the rails and prevent overtightening during installation. To install the kickstand, simply slide it into the grip handle at the bottom of the clamp. Rotate the kickstand so the foot rests squarely against the side wall of the truck bed, and tighten in place. Once the kickstands are installed, attach the drain tubes to the canister and route each tube out of the OEM drain holes in the floor of your truck bed. Complete the installation by mounting the top cover plate over the canister and connecting the wiring harness to the battery.

Ryan: Hey, everybody. My name's Ryan, and here at etrailer, we install, test fit, and review a lot of different parts. That way we could try to answer any questions those of you might have. And that's exactly what we're doing here today. We're going to be taking a look at the Pace Edwards Bedlocker retractable tonneau cover. The Bedlocker tonneau covers are custom fit for your truck, so you want to use our fit guide to ensure you're getting the right fit for you. Using a tonneau cover is a great way to not only keep the weather out of the bed of your truck, but it's also going to keep anything inside protected.

I know a lot of guys have tools and material back here that they want to keep protected and secure. Since this is an aluminum type cover, it's really secure. You're going to have a really hard time getting in through this cover. So used in conjunction with the locking tailgate, you're not going to have anything to worry about. All your stuff inside the bed is going to be locked up nice and tight.

So that way when you get off work, you're not going to have to sweat trying to grab your tools or anything else out, bring it in the house and deal with all that. So you can kind of rest peacefully there.Another big thing is how the tonneau cover is going to look and actually function. Honestly, this one is top-notch in my opinion. It is more or less a flush mount design, so you're not going to see it sticking up over the side of your bed and drawing a whole lot of attention to it. And even better is whenever you're driving, you're not going to have anything blocking or obstructing your view as you're going down the road.So with everything all closed up, we know it looks great and everything, but honestly, I think the coolest thing about the setup is the fact that it is electric.

So whenever you're ready to open it up or close it back up, all you're going to have to do is push a button. I don't know if you've messed with other tonneau covers before. Some of them can kind of be a pain where you're dealing with the straps and hooks and everything else trying to open and close it. It's not really all that much fun. This one's super easy. It gives us two remotes.

So it's actually wireless. So you can throw one on your key ring and whenever you're ready to open it up, you simply just push open. So you push a button once, it'll open, and what's neat is it actually has a brake. So let's say, for example, you only wanted to open it halfway, to maybe put whatever it is you might be putting in back there. You'd simply hit the button again and it will stop it. So, pretty cool little feature there. I bet it would come in handy if I had to guess. If you need full bed access, not a big deal either. You just continue to open it. It will stop on its own whenever you're opening it and closing it, so you don't have to worry about anything like that. And as you can see, even with it fully open, we pretty much have complete bed access. We're going to lose a little bit of space up front there, but in my opinion, the trade-off is well worth it.Now, something I was kind of curious about myself, and I'm sure some of you are as well, is how fast the tonneau cover's going to open and close. Does it take forever So I figured we'd do an experiment and time it. So I'll go ahead and hit close and start. And it's a lot faster than I would think it would be. Honestly, it's a lot quieter too. You don't hear this making a ton of noise, which is always nice. If you can keep things a little quiet, perfect. So it looks like we're getting pretty close, so right there, stop. So just about 20 seconds, roughly. To completely close it, that's pretty good. It's probably going to take you more time than that to do one manually. So compared to that, I'd say you have a little bit of advantage here at least a time savings.Just to give you an idea on how flush this actually is, we've got a pretty good view of it right here, and it pretty much just shoots straight across. As far as the rails here on top of your actual bed rails, I mean, it comes up just a hair. If I had to guess maybe about an eighth of an inch. You can just about get your fingernail underneath there and that's it. So about as tight as you can get it and as clean as you can, in my opinion. For those of you that are wondering how much space up here we're going to lose exactly, figured I'd just take a quick measurement so we can figure that out. If we just go from the front of the cover there back to the seal, it's going to be right at about 14 inches. So honestly, not really a huge deal. Still have plenty of bed space to work with. But keep in mind the canister isn't going to come all the way down to the very bottom of the bed, like a toolbox or something would, for example. We're still going to have a decent amount of space here. So maybe if you had some lumber or something like that, you could still slide it underneath there without any issues.I have seen a lot of different types of tonneau covers, and to be honest, this one is probably the best fitting. What I mean by that is how tight and sealed everything is. But if there's a will, there is a way, and to be honest, over time, water moisture could potentially seep through those seals and accumulate in your canister. And if that does end up happening, not really a huge deal. There's a drain on each side that'll allow that to run down and out underneath the truck. That way nothing's puddling up in there. You're not going to have to worry about anything rusting out. So inside, you can be confident that it's going to be nice and dry and stay in good working order. And that's really important, considering too that there's an electrical motor in there that needs to stay dry to function for years to come.So at the end of the day, this tonneau cover really does check all the boxes for me, at least in my opinion. The ease of use and how well it works is top-notch. The appearance of it, whether you have it open or closed, it looks awesome. No one's really going to be able to notice it. It almost looks factory, honestly. And even just down to the fit and finish, this fits really well, and that's not something you really see with a lot of different tonneau covers. A lot of them kind of fight you a little bit and just aren't exactly the way you want. I did not have that issue at all with this cover. Even just down to the little things, all the hardware it comes with, the clamps, everything is top notch, and it's a tonneau cover you won't be disappointed in.

This makes everything in your bed, safe and dry.
The only fault I can find with it, is freezing rain. It will freeze the slats together and the only way to open it in cold weather, is a electric heater in the bed for 20 min or so, to melt the ice. The Pros of this cover greatly out weigh this one problem.
